ACMC’s Occupational Health department is working collaboratively with companies in Ashtabula County to help manage the COVID-19 pandemic – and to help reduce its impact on daily operations. The following services are available and can be customized to individual company protocols. ACMC Occupational Health will also help companies develop COVID-19 protocols if needed.
Testing Services
PCR Nasal Swab test
ACMC will perform the nasal swab COVID-19 test for an employee with any of the following symptoms:
- Fever greater than 100.4
- New cough
- New myalgia (body aches)
- GI distress (if at least one other symptom present; except in episodes of diarrhea)
- Shortness of breath or difficulty Breathing
- Chills
- Repeated shaking with chills
- Headache
- Sore throat
- New loss of taste or smell
- New confusion or inability to arouse
The results of the nasal swab will be available in 24-48 hours.
Cost: $200 per test; billable to insurance
IgG Antibody Test
ACMC is able to offer the IgG COVID-19 antibody test for employees who are asymptomatic. The employee must be without symptoms for 21 days, or a minimum of 21 days must have passed from the date of possible exposure. The IgG antibody test is available through an Emergency Use Authorization. It is not FDA-approved and is not clinically appropriate for diagnosing or ruling out COVID-19 infection. The IgG antibody test is a blood draw that can confirm past exposure to COVID-19 or past infection. At this time, there are no FDA findings for length of time that IgG antibodies remain positive.
The results of the IgG antibody test will be available in 24-48 hours.
Surveillance Services
ACMC is able to perform daily surveillance via phone call to assess symptoms of employees on quarantine. Surveillance can be done for 10, 14, or 21 days, based on company protocol, and is done by a Registered Nurse.
ACMC’s Occupational Health provider will review the assessment and make a recommendation for return to work, continued quarantine, or referral to specialist if persisting symptoms appear to be non-COVID-19.
Cost: $100 per employee with existing 2-year ACMC Occupational Health service agreement; $150 per employee if no service agreement in place); billable to company
