Give the gift of health in 2019
Help a friend or loved one achieve their New Year's resolution with a gift designed to improve their health. Health for Life is a popular, 12-week wellness program offered through Ashtabula County Medical Center, led by health and fitness professionals of ACMC. The program introduces participants to a new, healthy lifestyle through educational classes and attendance at area fitness facilities.
The Health for Life class that ended this past March lost a combined total of 641 pounds and many continued to see health improvements beyond the end of the program.
"People often don't know where or how to start on their own, so Health for Life gets the going in the right direction at the start of the new year," said ACMC Wellness Director June Parmarter. "Not everyone needs to lose weight, but we can all benefit from living a healthier lifestyle and learning to move our bodies more."
The cost is only $20 and registration began Tuesday, January 2 with classes starting January 9. During the 12 weeks, participants attend educational sessions on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month at noon and 6 p.m. at 2211 Lake Avenue, next door to Premiere Fitness. Participants can pick which time is best for their schedule.
Participants also receive free passes to area fitness centers to exercise and take classes. Other classes include:
- Motivational Workouts
- Cooking tips
- Nutrition education
- Prizes for participation and healthy weight loss
- Diabetes, pre-diabetes, and other health risk-factors
