ACMC Healthcare System named a Top Workplace for seventh year in a row

Corporate news | Monday, June 19, 2017

For the seventh year in a row, ACMC Healthcare System (Ashtabula County Medical Center, Ashtabula Regional Home Health, Glenbeigh) has been awarded a Top Workplaces honor by The Plain Dealer. The Top Workplaces lists are based solely on the results of an employee feedback survey administered by WorkplaceDynamics, LLC, a leading research firm that specializes in organizational health and workplace improvement. Several aspects of workplace culture were measured, including Alignment, Execution, and Connection, just to name a few.

ACMC Healthcare System President & CEO Michael Habowski said, "This is the seventh year in a row that we have been named a Top Workplace. What makes this honor even more special is that it is based on the opinions of our Caregivers. They truly believe that our healthcare system provides a great work environment, and is a place where they can make a difference in their community. This is an award for every Caregiver in the ACMC Healthcare System. Each of our Caregivers plays an equally important role in making ACMC Healthcare System the great place it is to work and the great place it is to receive medical care."

The ACMC Healthcare System contributes more than $100 million in salaries and benefits to Ashtabula County's economy every year. The organization also purchases over $1 million of goods and services from local businesses and provides hundreds of thousands of dollars in support for schools and non-profit agencies in the county.

"The Top Workplaces award is not a popularity contest. And oftentimes, people assume it's all about fancy perks and benefits." says Doug Claffey, CEO of WorkplaceDynamics. "But to be a Top Workplace, organizations must meet our strict standards for organizational health. And who better to ask about work life than the people who live the culture every day—the employees. Time and time again, our research has proven that what's most important to them is a strong belief in where the organization is headed, how it's going to get there, and the feeling that everyone is in it together. Claffey adds, "Without this sense of connection, an organization doesn't have a shot at being named a Top Workplace."
