ACMC expands June 16 Obstacle Course & Fun Run to include health fair

Community news | Tuesday, June 5, 2018

Ashtabula County Medical Center is adding to its popular Bridge to Fitness Obstacle Course & Fun Run, set for June 16 at Conneaut Middle School. The family-oriented event will feature a new health fair for children and teens just prior to the event. The run costs $5, but anyone 17-and-under can participate for free by attending the health fair. The Health Fair begins at 10 a.m. and features a variety of health screenings and educational opportunities for children and teens. The Bridge to Fitness Obstacle Course & Fun Run starts at 11 a.m.

"This year's course gives individual participants a fun challenge with several off-road type activities," said ACMC Athletic Trainer Monica Brown. "The three-mile course features a stream crossing, small hill climb, as well as other man-made and natural obstacles."

The obstacle course also includes an army crawl section, tire run, block bridge, hurdles, a slip-and-slide path, web tangle, inflatables, and more.

"This is not an Iron Man test or ninja-style course. It is not a timed race. It's a challenging and fun opportunity for families and friends to take part in an event together," Brown said.
