Cancer touches us all. In Ashtabula County, we see higher rates of cancer occurrence here than both the state and national averages. Not only do cancer patients have immense challenges physically, their challenges are also emotional and oftentimes financial. Having quality cancer services available right here, close to home, means so much. Donors who direct their gifts to support ACMC's cancer services truly touch the lives of hundreds of their neighbors, friends, co-workers and family. Funds help support cancer care through all aspects of the program, including equipment, facilities, care programs and education.

Cleveland Clinic Cancer Care at ACMC

Cleveland Clinic Cancer Care at ACMC offers this area's only dedicated cancer treatment facility. In many cases, treatment can be done on-site, meaning you can stay close to home and close to family.

Cancer can develop in any organ or tissue. The three most common cancers for men in the United States are prostate cancer, lung cancer and colon cancer. The three most common cancers in women are breast cancer, colon cancer and lung cancer.

Tests for diagnosing cancer include blood tests, biopsies, x-rays, CT scans and MRI scans. Treatment options include surgical removal of cancerous cells, diet and lifestyle changes, chemotherapy, and radiation. Usually treatment involves a combination of several of these treatments.
