The department, at the Ashtabula County Medical Center, offers the most comprehensive service, in the county. The department provides service 24 hours a day, performed by registered, state of Ohio licensed technologists, under the direction of board certified radiologists, from the Cleveland Clinic. All procedures are performed, per order of a physician.



Upon completion of the exam, the report is interpreted and reported, by the radiologist, through a voice recognition system, which eliminates delays caused by transcription.



Inpatients, outpatients and emergency patients, of all age groups, are served. Patient care and management is accomplished, in collaboration with medical staff, nursing and other healthcare disciplines, within and outside of the hospital.

The services provided are as follows:

·     General diagnostic and Fluoroscopy

·     CT Scan

·     MRI

·     Mammography

·     Bone Density – preformed from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday

·     Ultrasound

·     Nuclear Medicine

·     PET/CT Scan




Mammography

The ACMC Mammography Program is accredited by the American College of Radiology. We offer expert care by board certified radiologist and certified mammography technologist. All women between the ages of 35-40 should have a baseline mammogram. A mammogram should be performed yearly for women over the age of 40.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)

ACMC is proud to offer MRI services accredited by the American College of Radiology, to patients. This latest innovation in diagnostic imaging produces extremely clear images of internal organs and tissues. The MRI system can examine the designated area from any direction or plane, with our high field strength magnet. MRI’s do not expose patients to radiation are conducted Monday through Friday until 11 p.m.

Nuclear Medicine

The Nuclear Medicine department at ACMC offers a wide range of diagnostic imaging procedures. Trained certified and experienced nuclear medicine technologist aid in preparing you for a pleasant imaging experience. Using very small amounts of radiopharmaceuticals that are injected into the veins images are created using an extremely sensitive radiation detector called a "gamma camera". Our Nuclear Medicine department has some of the most state of the art imaging cameras available, including 2 Siemens Dual Head E-Cams.

Ultrasound

Sonographers are registered by the American registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers. (ARDMS). Ultrasound exams, of the abdomen,pelvis,breast,prostate and testicles as well as pregnancy.

Ultrasound can also be used to guide biopsies of the breast,prostate,and other structures. ACMC is equipped with two Siemens Elegra ultrasound units. Ultrasounds are performed until 7 p.m., Monday through Friday.

CTA

A diagnostic imaging of the heart performed in CAT scan. This test helps determine if fatty or calcium deposits have built up in the coronary arteries.
